Local Film Liaison Visits Denzel Washington Film Set at Elephant Butte Lake State Park

 

At the invitation of location manager, Michael Dellheim, Cary “Jagger” Gustin, film liaison to the City of Truth or Consequences and Sierra County, visited the set of the film, The Book of Eli, currently filming around the State of New Mexico.  The waters of Elephant Butte Lake State Park stood in perfectly for the San Francisco Bay.  The one day shoot on April 14 involved approximately 140 crew members who patronized area motels, restaurants, gas stations, and other local services.  The directors, brothers Allen and Albert Hughes, and producers were very pleased with local residents and the park staff who assisted the production and made sure the process went smoothly.  Denzel Washington, star of such hits as Courage Under Fire, The Preacher’s Wife, and Training Day, was said to have enjoyed his day of work at Elephant Butte Lake.  For more information, call 575-894-4244 or look for county-wide film information online at www.filmtorc.com or visit the New Mexico Film Office web site: www.nmfilm.com
